After visiting her mother in a Scranton hospital, Michelle Jolene Lakey began her walk home with the intent of returning to visit her mother again before spending the night at her friend's house. One block from her home, witnesses saw her speaking with someone in a yellow car, which she then got in. Michelle never made it home and has not been seen or heard from since. Did Michelle fall victim to the same suspect, making her one of the Scranton 5?

Frank Osellanie was an easy target. Even today around here, everyone pretty much assumes he did it. He may have been a child killer rapist but does that mean he was the murderer rapist of Jolene? Some of the reports of him being friends with her giving her rides in his car etc don’t all add up. Maybe Lois planted these stories.

The more recent picture the mother kept from the police reminded me of when a little girl puts on makeup and changes her hair to try to look older. Or someone else made her up to look older.

The walk from the hospital to her house is not as short as it seems on Google maps. Having that many kids in 1986 in that area was unusual. The time of big families was long past. Most of my classmates had just one or two siblings. The area between the hospital and her home was and is industrial with lots of automotive related businesses with residential houses interspersed in-between. Her house was across from the county jail.
